Dr. Ethan Thompson is Professor of Media Arts at TAMUCC. He is the director of TV Family, a feature-length documentary, and the author of the forthcoming book, What was MTV? Evolutions of Music Television. He spends more time than most people thinking about TV and movies, but he still can't explain why he likes Starsky & Hutch (the movie) so much.

Kayla is fascinated by the messed up world of horror and thrillers, but shamelessly sobs over the beauty of romances. Just a junior in college, she hopes to feel accomplished in her studies and projects of writing and picture taking. Kayla longs for achievement and peace within her own world, hoping she can make many memories in the process.

Dante Ellis is an eccentric filmmaker with an eye for dramatic storytelling and the technical aspects that pull it together. He has a taste for sci-fi, comedy, action, and animation as a medium. His filming style is heavily inspired by the content he takes in.

Jayden enjoys playing fighting games and watching/making youtube videos and music. He likes Dragon Ball, Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, and Splatoon. He likes watching comedy movies and action movies.

Mia Moreno enjoys spending her free time watching horror films, and her absolute favorite films of all time are all of the Terrifier films. In fact, Mia drove over 2 hours to meet the silly goofy clown, Art, and celebrated at Chili's afterward. Mia admires Terrifier's director Damien Leone's work because of how he manages his successful low-budget films.

Joshua is a fun guy that enjoy the funny side of life. he really likes comedies, action, and sci-fi films. Joshua's passion is to one day make his own films but until then he will just learn what he can, and will critiques other peoples films.

Kaylee Marek is a senior at TAMUCC majoring in Media Studies. She has an affinity for all things comedy and satire. Some key films that have helped shape her knowledge of the film world are Smokey and the Bandit, the Shining, and Ferris Bueller's Day off.

JD Sanchez is a senior in his final semester at TAMU-CC. His love for movies began in middle school after watching “The Avengers” and “Battleship.” He enjoys a variety of genres, including comedies, action, and science fiction.

A local to the Corpus Christi Area, Spencer Berger is a lover of all things strange and unusual. When not hitting the books as a student at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, Spencer enjoys catching a Corpus Christi Hooks game at Whataburger Field or watching a New Orleans Saints game on TV. His favorite films are the ones that have an important message, whether it's from a galaxy far away or from the not so distant past.

Douglas Harley is someone that casually enjoys films. Only recently has he been consuming more horror and action films, however he mainly consumes and enjoys comedy, romance, and adventure type films. He enjoys seeing the visual elements come together such as costume and set design.

Esperanza Garcia is starting her second semester at TAMUCC. Her favorite movie genre are dark fantasy films, especially the ones from the 80s. Her favorite ones are the Labyrinth, The NeverEnding Story and The Dark Crystal. She loves these films especially because of the set design and the puppets, even though she's scared of them in real life.

Maria is an aspiring cartoonist with a taste in cinema that they describe as "tastefully tacky." They revel in the riveting, thought-provoking, and poetic, but will never turn down some good ol' fashioned camp. Some of their favorite films include, the modern Planet of The Apes franchise, Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), City Hunter (1993), Monkey King (2023)--they admit that it's garbage, but they've seen it several times and have cried about it at least twice--and, Perfume: The Story of A Murderer (2006).

Precious Martin is a senior at TAMUCC University, pursuing a bachelor's in Media Production with a minor in Digital Journalism. She enjoys feel-good movie genres like Rom-Coms, Y2K “Chick-Flicks,” Black Classics, and true-story films but will watch action and horror if the storyline is compelling. Excited for Professor Thompson’s Film Criticism course, she hopes to become a better movie buff and gain a deeper appreciation for all films.

Zenaida Perez is on her second semester at TAMUCC studying Media Arts with the interest of working in Media Production. She is lover of all horror movies but her favorite genre is psychological horror. Her all time favorite movies include: Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Interstellar, and The Truman Show.

Kaitlyn Villarreal, a creative and soon-to-be graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's Media Arts Studies program, is excited to complete her undergraduate degree this semester. She plans to move to Houston for a Master's degree and a media career. Outside of academics, Kaitlyn enjoys live music, antiquing, travel, time with her dog Penny, and romantic cinema.

Manuel Alvarez is currently a Senior in Media Arts at Texas A&M University. As a retired United States Army Non-Commissioned Officer he has experience in high stress environments, leading and managing. As a single father to three daughters, when not running the household, Manuel relaxes by playing video games, reading, watching various forms of media and building models.

Kelly Davis is a highly creative content creator pursuing a bachelors degree at Texas A&M University—Corpus Christi with a concentration in Media Production. She enjoys watching psychological dramas and sometimes romantic comedy movies. You can always catch her editing videos or recording short form content.
